So hear me out. When I first started reading ,when there was only the first three books, this I fell in love with the witty, down to earth characters, the werewolf lore, the trials, missteps and successes....but somewhere along the way this series lost the original magic it held. About half way in the series character became caricatures of themselves, a main grievous I have is that Jacque isn’t the main focus anymore which is fine as the story evolves to more perspectives however it feels like she been left in the dust especially in the last few books. While too many characters to keep track of are introduced. This also makes the big twist of this book feel unearned. (And don’t get me started on the twist) For instance in this book Jen outright dismissed the chance to talk to her while they were captured when they could have used their mates like walkie-talkies. Then much like all shows that go on too long with more and “greater” villains that keep coming out the the Woodstock it started to feel bloated leaving this feeling that it should have ended already instead of being drawn out. The main thing I’m turn off is the continuing intervention of the Great Luna ex-machina a lot lately. (The biggest offense in the gypsy healer series) Now I will always return to read the next book as I’m holy invested in how it turns out but I lost the initial love I had for it. Yet in any case, should you read it? — Absolutely! It is a wonderful guiltily pleasure read.

Quinn, holy cow! I’m a mess and I cried more in this book than any other I’ve ever read. It’s beautiful and heart wrenching. Vasile and Alina....I can’t begin to even say anything because I’ll start crying again. Fane and Jacque will be amazing and I’m falling apart over Cypher....poor Lilly. I’m looking forward to the Warlock Queen and what comes next for this amazing group of wolves and other supers.

I have been a fan of Quinn’s writing for many years now. I have read and reread her stories, and every time it feels like going home. So when I say this book is breathtakingly beautiful, I truly mean it. I won’t spoil anything, but just know that this book will likely leave you emotionally raw and questioning a lot of things. But also know that you will be blown away by the genius of Quinn’s writing. I have never felt so connected and attached to a series before. Not even big names like Harry Potter, Twilight, or The Hunger Games hold a candle to the depth of emotion I feel for these characters. Which is why I’m so thankful I stumbled upon Prince of Wolves so many years ago on Apple Books. If you haven’t yet, I hope you read Alpha Rising and Quinn’s other incredible books. I doubt you will regret it - just get ready for all the feels. And remember to keep wine and chocolate on standby - you’re going to need it.

It feels like yesterday I found her first book, "Prince of Wolves" and was just starting to fall in love with each of the characters she had created. This is book 12 in The Grey Wolf Series and book 21 when you merge The Gypsy Healer Series together. I highly recommend you reading the 2 series’s together the story flows the best that way and you get to meet so many wonderful characters. This book will not disappoint you it had me laughing, crying and cheering for things to happen. Every time you pick up one of Quinn Loftis’ book it’s like visiting with family and friends. You feel the emotions that the characters are going through and laugh along with them in there good times and cry with them in there bad times.
